Activities
- On-farm testing to identify the location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems;
- Organize frontline demonstrations to establish its production potential on the farmers’ fields.
- Conduct training of farmers to update their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies; and training of extension personnel to orient them in the frontier areas of technology development.
- To work as resource and knowledge centre of agricultural technology for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sectors for improving the agricultural economy of the district.
- In order to create awareness about improved technologies, a large number of extension activities are being taken up; and to support various activities.
- Seeds and planting materials are also produced by the KVKs and made available to the farmers.

Krishi vigyan Kendra, Bahraich has been providing technology backstopping for farming community since inception in 1984. It has become a role model for other KVKs and extension agencies in providing new extension models for technology dissemination. The KVK has been providing different Extension Advisory Services coupled with different input supply services like seed, seedlings, grafted plants, biofertilizers, biopesticides, soluble fertilizers, plant protection inputs, soil and plant tissue analytical services. It has been emphasis of the KVK Bahraich to provide these extension advisory services alongwith the extension of various inputs for increasing the adoption of various technological package of ICAR.
The group organization efforts of KVK Bahraich through innovative Farmer Clubs and Women Self Help Groups have highlighted its role in the technological assessment, refinement and dissemination process. The KVK provide various extension activities such as Kisan Mela, Kisan Gosthi, Field days, animal health camps, film show, stage programme, workshop, seminar, development of publication of extension literature; development of training material, radio and TV talk, news paper coverage, paper publishing work etc.
